TWIN LAKES BEACH ASSOCIATION
Our Association was formed and founded in 1955, making us 56 years old. The founder was a Mr. Bamberger and he was our first President. The yearly AGM’s were usually held outdoors in the back yard of one of the executive members. People would bring their own lawn chairs and enjoy a Sunday afternoon with neighbours and friends. As the Association grew AGMs were held on the second Sunday of July, usually at the St. Laurent Rec. Hall. To date we represent over 300 members. We are a not for profit incorporated organization.
We have a written constitution which declares our purpose as being: “to exist to serve the interests of its members, promote good fellowship amongst its members and promote good relations between its members and the surrounding community.” Our Associations’ boundaries include all properties on Twin Beach Road North and South.
The Association is governed by an Executive Committee, assisted by Members at Large. The Executive Committee is formed by the President (elected),the Vice President (elected), the Secretary (elected), the Treasurer (elected), and a minimum of two or a maximum of three Past Presidents (selected). We convene an annual general meeting usually in July for the purpose of information exchange and elections. We keep our membership informed by producing at least two newsletters per year. Most recently we have been striving to convert to an email communication method which is faster and less expensive.
The Twin Lakes Beach Association is an active group supporting many groups in our community and hosting an annual Golf Tournament at Manipogo Golf and Country Club.
