  1. Approval of Minutes July 27– Motion carried: Jeff/Alice
  2. Business Arising from the Minutes
  • Update SCU signing authority, on-line access, statements (discuss in Treasuer report) Letter to the credit union amending the signing authority to reflect current executive
  • Review progress with: block captains, AED, COPP, Water Safety, traffic monitoring Jan and Alice will share information from past executives and Bob Cox to re-launch the Block Captains a key communication link with our beach community. AEDS Jan is researching price, security and placement of two AEDs. COPP orientation meeting today facilitated by Harry Frederick – led for executive by Mavine Smit. Water Safety – marker buoys may be donated from Camp Sandy Haven and placed at Meindl Park. Traffic Monitoring – working with experts to select two cameras at the junction of Twin S and N. In contact with the RM of St Laurent.
  • Clarify admin re Facebook and website. (Jack and Steve Nesbitt) No cooperation thus far.
  • AGM minutes – amendments/edit Draft will be posted on the Twin Lakes Beach website indicating draft from Robert Barnes with amendments noted to be voted upon at the 2025 AGM
  1. Reports:
  • Treasurer – signing authority, online banking. No report – Treasurer resigned and did not attend. The President announced that a letter will be sent to the Steinbach Credit Union
  • President – Liaison St Laurent (CAO, MEC, Gillis), Woodlands Jack met with the CAO for St Laurent to discuss plans as reported above. Signage damaged  or defaced will be replaced. Met with new Emergency co-ordinator, Melissa Buors and Roger Gillis re plans and updated member volunteers for water rescue plans. Meeting pending with Doug Oliver, Woodlands reeve.
  • – Vision re growing the Association We are encouraged with the level of interest and volunteers for the COPP program and water rescue.
  1. Past President reps: Motion: Jan/Alice – To welcome Jeff Douglas as Past President.Carried Jeff has presided over elections at our AGM, moderated Town Hall meetings and knowledgeable with the evolution of the Association and neighborhoods.
  2. Ad Hoc Committees
  • Safety (COPP, camera monitoring, AED, Water Rescue) Thanks to Mavine Smit who has taken the lead to organize volunteers with the COPP in an orientation meeting.
  • Environment (zebra mussels, shoreline cleanup – beach debris, Meindl Park, nets….)
  • Social (block captains, recommending and implementing social activities)

There was a general discussion of using ad hoc committees supported by the executive but led by a member-at-large with power to add. If any reading this have an interest in any of these working groups please comment and we will get in touch with you.

  1. New Business: letter of resignation Motion: Alice/Jan To accept the letter of resignation of Robert Barnes. Carried
    • Appointment – Jeff/Jan That Alice Dent serve as Acting Treasurer until a replacement is found. Carried

We have received reports from a few of our residents that, this past weekend, they located a number of rocks in the lake that had zebra mussels attached to them.It appears the mussels have arrived at our beach.Please let folks know, and especially children know - as if they are in the water playing, and they step on rocks with zebra mussels attached, those little buggers can be razor sharp, a ... It is our unfortunate duty to share with you some information provided to us at the AGM last weekend by the RM of Woodlands.It appears that the agreement between Woodlands and St Laurent for winter snow plowing has been dissolved, and is no longer in place.
