Thanks to those who emailed support and attended today’s council meeting.
I raised the issue of tipping fees at the dump for flood debris on your behalf. I am happy to report that Council will allow flood debris to be brought to the site without fees to the end of October.
This arrangement is for small trucks and utility trailer loads. Please make an effort to dump in the designated areas for the debris from the flood. The government reimburses the RM for the extra cartage fees they incur but only for that which is deposited in the proper area. Be fair. Do not throw garbage bags with this material which will add to the overall costs for the RM. It goes without saying that we should not condone dumping of yard waste or other material except at the dump.
We appreciate the fair hearing and consideration of our request by Council.
