RE-ENTRY via PONTOON BOAT

Phase 4 – Re-entries via Pontoon Boat                               Posted: July 11, 2011

All Permanent residents, Level 2 and lower; and all Level 1 & 2 property owners will continue to be provided with scheduled escorted entry via the pontoon boat.  This is providing sufficient demand exists and depending upon weather/lake conditions.

Schedules will be developed for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week, providing space for up to six property owners per day (minimum 2 persons per property).   Friday will operate as a back-up date should we have to cancel one of the days due to weather/lake conditions.

Schedules will be kept at the RM of Woodlands office and those property owners mentioned above should call the RM office # 383- 5679, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to schedule the day they would like to attend.   We will require a minimum of 5 property owners per day requesting entry in order to operate the pontoon shuttle that day. If insufficient demand exists on a given date, individuals would be contacted to change to a day in which greater demand exists, in order to meet the 5 owner minimum.

Scheduled persons would be wise to continue to monitor the website for possible cancellations due to weather/lake conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.

On the scheduled date of re-entry, the Site Supervisor will attend the boat launch site at 7:00 a.m., in order to make a final appraisal of the weather/lake conditions.   All scheduled persons should contact the Site Supervisor at #383-0006 prior to attending the meeting point (MTT Restaurant lot) to ensure that the pontoon boat will be operating that day.

If a decision is made to go forward property owners will be picked up at the MTT Restaurant lot at 8:30 , 09:30 and 10:30 a.m. that date.  All persons will be escorted back out of the evacuated area in reverse order between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.  This will provide individuals with approx. 5 ½ hours at their property.

These scheduled re-entries will continue until a more suitable means can be achieved, such as via the newly constructed temporary access road.
