RM of Woodlands Update, October 25

You are here: Home / Media Bulletins / RM of Woodlands Update, October 25

October 26, 2011 //  by twinlakes//  Leave a Comment

The RM of Woodlands asked the Association to provide the following info to TLB South members.  If you have any questions, contact the RM directly 204-383-5679.

The RM of Woodlands has heard that some residents are under the impression that the evacuated area of Twin Beach Road south will be permanently open to property owners once Hydro is established in the area.  Be advised that this is not true.  Council is looking at a whole host of issues that need to be addressed before considering opening this area up permanently.  As the recovery process moves forward and we get closer to lifting the evacuation order all property owners will be advised formally.

This is a notice to property owners in the RM of Woodlands who have elected to have their buildings demolished and removed from the Twin Beach Road area.  Please be advised that the RM of Woodlands learned yesterday that MASC includes the value of “Site Infrastructure” (such as wells, holding tanks and driveways) in the contributory value of the building assessment in order to reach a final assessment value. This means that once a property owner settles with MASC, they are receiving funds for the included value of these items.
