TLBA AGM JULY 19th, 2026 – St. Laurent Rec Centre
Constitution Changes
Welcome back to our membership as our season slowly begins and sunnier days are to come at the beach. In the meantime, our AGM is looming, and you are receiving the 60-day notice constitution documents. As twin lake beach members, we are hoping you’ll get involved with the association’s future. Membership renewals are due as well, we look forward to your participation. Dues can be sent to: twinlakesbeach@gmail.com
You will notice that our 2025/26 Executive Team did not change the proposed Version 00 of the constitution, as the structure and the language are very respectful to what our existing 2020 constitution originally contained. Yeah, it is “wordy” but it’s now meeting existing regulation requirements, will be more compliant and the membership will be better protected for an incorporated NPO.
Having said that the proposed Version 00 Constitution will respect the following:
- 1st that it meets the Government ‘s Non-Profit Organization Requirements and governance.
- 2nd it protects our Membership Rights and personal information.
- 3rd It protects Executive Rights and personal Information.
- 4th – This is a living document, once accepted it can be changed, It’s NOT Cast in Stone! We are looking for our membership’s acceptance of the proposed Constitution V00, to comply and move on to make future changes and adjustment from there.
- 5th – The New Constitution V00 was heavily influenced by our existing Constitution when being created. The proposed constitution was written to meet the Government’s Non-Profit Organizational structure, governance and now complies with all NPO regulations.
I could not select which of the above bullet points are more important, they are all essential components to bring the old constitution in modern day compliance.
I must thank several members of our association, Mr. Alex Krawchuk (a fellow past Twin Lakes Beacher) for his initial efforts in creating such a detailed document that has brought us into modern day compliance by launching this review project years ago!
A Huge Thank You to our Secretary Marc Rougeau who was tenacious in getting together an informational comparison document of both the “existing 2020 constitutions VS proposed V00 constitution in an easy read format for members. It compares each constitution as to how they stack up against NPO laws, regulation and governance requirements. Check out the pro, con and compliance of each article compared side by side. The document name “7-Existing 2020 Vs proposed V00 constitution” is attached in the 60 day notice email I sent in mid-May, with the AGM documents as information with references only.
We need you good folks to come out to our 2026 AGM and make the “magic happen” let’s adopt this new constitution. Why you ask…just check out the brilliant work that was done, refined, polished and finally again presented for the third time. As always, we look forward to your insights and comments. I hope you folks can appreciate all the breakdown for the existing 2020 compared to the new and improved proposed V00 constitution.
