Flood Action Committee

You are here: Home / Flood Action Committee

The Twin Beach Flood Action Committee is an emergency subcommittee of the Twin LakeBeach Association. It was formed as a response by the Membership on June 12, 2011 to have a group dedicated to work on their behalf to represent them on issues dealing directly with the intentional flooding and destruction of Twin Lake Beach.  Specifically the Committee is guided by the response to the Three Fundamental Questions that were generated by the Association membership.

They are:

  • What options are acceptable to you as property owners?  RESPONSE: WE WANT TO STAY. (with conditions..lower lake level, improve access road, continuous berm along the shoreline, compensation and clean-up)
  • What steps should be taken to achieve the Best Possible Solution? RESPONSE: Formation of Twin Beach Flood Action Committee.
  • Does anyone in our group have skills or talents they would offer if a sub-committee were formed?

RESPONSE:

The committee has eight members and is chaired by Dennis Turek:

  • GARY GRUBERT
  • FRED PISCLEVECH
  • ANDY ZUBRYCKI
  • JACK KING
  • MATTHEW LAND
  • MARIO LEBAR
  • SHERRAL LILLIES

We are represented by Dennis at a larger association called The Association of Lake Manitoba Stakeholders, who are providing a Unified Voice for the victims of the Lake Manitoba Disaster.
