The Portage Diversion opened last week, and this week it appears to be headed toward closing. Flows are being reduced steadily this week currently reading a trickle of 523 cfs. Assiniboine flows are waning, in part because of the dry weather and it appears in part because the Province is filling the Shellmouth Reservoir: flow on the Assiniboine at Holland fell to 6,215 cfs, and at Headingly fell to 5,050 cfs. Flow on the Whitemud River is falling, sitting at 629 cfs. Conversely, flow on the Waterhen is rising, as expected as the ice clears, reaching 1,939 cfs. That is more than double last week’s flow. Outflow at Fairford is little changed at 2,627 cfs. The level of Lake Manitoba is down from last week to 811.40 feet. The level of Lake Winnipegosis is down slightly from last week at 830.93 feet. The level of Lake St. Martin fell to 798.97 feet this morning. Flow on the Dauphin River is down sharply from last week at 1,840 cfs. The level of the Shellmouth Reservoir is rising and currently sitting at 1396.31 feet.
