Rally planned for July 15, 2014

You are here: Home / Media Bulletins / Rally planned for July 15, 2014

July 14, 2014 //  by webmgr//  Leave a Comment

As posted on the Association of Lake Manitoba Stakeholders (ALMS) website:

Date: Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm
Place: Mark Peters’ farm northwest of Portage La Prairie
Civic Address 40085, R.M. of Portage La Prairie
Directions: From the Junction of Hwy 227 and the Portage Diversion Bridge, travel 1 mile
north on West Bank Road. Travel 1/8 mile west to driveway with Civic Address 40085

A media event is planned to draw attention to the urgent need for permanent flood mitigation on Lake Manitoba. Planned by the Lake Manitoba Rehabilitation Committee with support from numerous Associations and MAACO, this gives all of us an opportunity to show support for this inter-organizational call for action. Members of the Legislature, Ministers and municipal reps have been invited to participate.
In the media bulletin Teichrob says, “We demand flood solutions for Lake Manitoba and strategies for the reduction in the amount of water discharged through the Portage Diversion immediately.”
