Re-Entry Plan

You are here: Home / Media Bulletins / Re-Entry Plan

October 24, 2011 //  by twinlakes//  Leave a Comment

The following criteria have been developed by the RM of St. Laurent to enable some residents to return to their residences.  Be advised only structurally viable residents are eligible.  Information can be found on the RM’s website here, daily media bulletin – currently October 21.

Register with the EOC – and provide vehicle License plate number
Potable water –
Water well test – a passing test result in writing
Property assessed as a Class 1
Working waste management system – Certified plumber to visually check
house, and septic tank inspection.
Power/hydro, – Manitoba hydro to inspect entrance service and licensed electrician to inspect house
Road and driveway access
Mould inspection report in writing
Homes that are marked with an orange “O” are not inhabitable at the present time. This does not mean that owner must demolish. However repairs are necessary before re-entry would be considered. Proper documentation from an engineer must be produced before re-entry.

It is the understanding of the Twin Lakes Beach Association that the RM supports the water testing by making vials available at the RM office with sample pickups once per week. Check the office for details.

The costs of a certified plumber, electrician and mold inspector is borne by the homeowner. We believe these are recoverable costs but make sure you get a proper signed receipt for your own records as well as documentation for the RM.
