R.M. OF ST. LAURENT
PUBLIC NOTICE,
December 22, 2011

Emergency Measures Organization has advised that our State of Local Emergency (SOLE) will expire on December 31, 2011 and they will not be approving further extension requests. In addition, all existing funding programs, including the recovery program in place for Manitoba Agricultural Services Canada (MASC) and Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA), will be maintained and do not require a SOLE to continue. If you have any questions or concerns please contact your MASC representative.
Security services will be discontinued after December 30, 2011. The Lundar RCMP Detachment has been advised of this change. For non-emergency complaints please call (204) 762-5088.  For emergency call 9-1-1.

The Municipality strongly recommends that all homeowners (permanent and seasonal) follow the RM of St. Laurent Beaches Re-entry Checklist found on our website before staying any length of time (e.g. overnite) in this area.

We wish to advise that you may experience delays in snow clearing as the RM of St. Laurent has many kilometers of roads to clear and bus routes are normally the priority .

With the uncertainty of lake levels and possible flooding in 2012 an emergency evacuation may be necessary. We ask that you have a plan in place that will prepare you for this type of evacuation.

Your continued co-operation is greatly appreciated.

Council
Rural Municipality of St. Laurent
